Crypto momentum: holding the strongest coins of the quarter

Crypto

Buy the coins that rose most over the last 90 days and replace them every month.

The rule

Rank the large coins by their 90-day return. Hold the top five, but only those that are up and in an uptrend. Repeat monthly.

Why people use it

Money in crypto rotates between coins in waves, and a coin that leads tends to lead for weeks. Momentum tries to ride the current leaders.

Where it hurts

Leaders in crypto change fast and fall hard: a coin that tripled can lose half in a month. Monthly reviews are slow for such a market.

How our bot runs it

Two bots pick from the fifteen largest coins: up to five with the best 90-day return, each required to be positive and above its 50-day average; reviewed monthly, in cash when the market filter is negative. A third bot compares bitcoin with a basket of five altcoins over 60 days each week and holds the stronger, or cash if both are down.

Live account

A virtual $100,000 account that follows this rule. Every trade is on the bot's page.
